Jay-Z’s “On to the next one” off Blueprint 3 sample’s Justice
I was looking around the music new’s and this came up strikingly interesting. I read on Hipster Runoff’s ALT Report tumblr and Carles just posted a link saying Jay-Z’s track sampled Justice. I didn’t know what to expect but I had to see. Here’s the story…
Q-Tip and Pharrel had a phone talk with Swizz Beats and pretty much told him about Justice and getting on this stuff. He knew the sound but didn’t get around to knowing it was them with the track “D.A.N.C.E.” Swizz Beat says that this sample is the “least complicated one that would be easily be able to fit into the system.” So what did he do then?
Pretty much he tweaked the words “under the spotlight” by Justice to “on to the next one” looping it for the chorus for Jay-Z. To be honest with you, not a bad song but the sampling get’s really repetitive
